Aqueous Degreasing System with Zero Discharge
The wash/rinse/rinse/dry system shown below was built in 1997 for the nuclear fuel division of a large corporation. It thoroughly cleans and degreases critical components processed through two RamTough Multi Stage Consoles which are abutted to form a four stage line. Oil that splits and floats on the solution is immediately removed from the surface of the washing chamber using Ramco's SurfaceSweep feature.
Floating oil and contaminated washing solution is sent through decant oil removal (white cylindrical tank) and ultrafiltration (large blue tank to the far left) systems. The detergent is recycled and returned to the washing chamber for further use.
The system also incorporates dual cascading deionized water rinses and a hot air knife blow-off dryer to yield spot-free, dry components. The DI water is sent though filtration, activated carbon and mixed resin beds to maintain consistent quality. Both the detergent and the deionized water are recycled on a continuous closed loop with zero discharge.
